Find the ADR directory (`docs/adr/`, `adr/`, `docs/decisions/`). Create `docs/adr/` if none exists.\n2. Number sequentially: `NNNN-short-kebab-title.md` (e.g. `0007-use-postgres-for-events.md`).\n3. Copy [references/template.md](references/template.md) and fill every section.\n4. Status starts as **Proposed**; becomes **Accepted** after review. Never edit an accepted ADR's decision — supersede it with a new ADR and link both ways.\n\n## Writing guidance\n\n- **Context**: forces at play — requirements, constraints, team skills, deadlines. Facts, not opinions.\n- **Options**: at least two real alternatives, including \"do nothing\" when plausible.\n- **Decision**: one paragraph starting with \"We will…\".\n- **Consequences**: positive *and* negative; what becomes easier, harder, and what we must now monitor.\n- Add a Mermaid diagram when the decision changes component boundaries or data flow.\n","version":"1.0.0","description":"Write Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) that capture context, options and consequences."},"scripts":[],"dependencies":[],"deprecated":null,"created_at":"2026-10-18T17:02:35.82244+00:00"}
