Inside a crew

One package. A whole crew.

4 agents · 6 skills · 1 package

Inspect package

4 agents

Each agent has a role, instructions, tool hints and model compatibility. Team roles are passed to your coding tool for delegation.

6 included skills

Crewd resolves the skills the team depends on. A skill contains a SKILL.md procedure and can include scripts and references.

Scripts detected

This example flags scripts for review. Use crewd interview to inspect them before use.

Shared package versions

crewd.json records your crew. crewd.lock pins package versions and SHA-256 hashes so teammates can reproduce the installed setup.

Use the same agent
across your tools.

Switch tools without translating your agent files. Crewd turns the same package into Claude Code agents, Cursor rules, Gemini instructions, and OpenAI Codex workflows.

Model Context Protocol

Hire agents directly inside your coding session.

No terminal context-switching. Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, and Codex CLI can discover, inspect, and hire agents into your workspace with strict human-in-the-loop safety.

Built around your codebase

Make the crew yours.

Add your repo’s procedures. Keep its context with the code.

Custom skills

Your skills survive upgrades.

Use crewd teach to attach skills to an agent in this repo. Your additions stay attached when the package is upgraded.

Questions about Crewd

Before you
install.

The practical details before you bring Crewd into a repo.

Why not just copy the agent files myself?

You can. Crewd handles the repetitive parts: resolving skill dependencies, writing each tool’s native files and recording package versions in a lockfile. Commit the setup so teammates can install it without copying folders by hand.

What happens when I hire an agent?

Crewd downloads the package, resolves its skills and writes the native files for your coding tools. It records the package version and SHA-256 hash in crewd.lock.

Which tools does it support?

Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and OpenAI Codex. Crewd compiles the same package into each tool’s native format.

Can coding agents hire packages directly without me running terminal commands?

Yes. Crewd provides an official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server (@crewdhq/crewd-mcp). Agents in Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and Codex CLI can discover, inspect, and dry-run hire plans, but require your explicit confirmation before any files are written.

Can I review what’s inside a package?

Skills can include scripts. Crewd flags them and points you to crewd interview for review before use.

How do agents in a team work together?

Crewd installs each member and compiles its role into your coding tool’s delegation descriptions. The tool handles delegation; there’s no separate Crewd orchestrator.

Will upgrades remove my custom skills?

Skills you add with crewd teach stay attached when you upgrade the package. Those additions belong to this repository.

Can I try it now?

Yes! Crewd is open for everyone. You can discover packages on Explore, install the CLI, or connect the MCP server (@crewdhq/crewd-mcp) directly inside Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, and Codex CLI.
